Things are not looking the best for fans of FOX's Red Band Society who are hoping they can persuade FOX not cancel the freshman series.

Is There A Chance For A Season 2 Of 'Red Band Society?'

The network pulled the drama from its spring lineup and halted production beyond the first thirteen episodes, which doesn't look too promising for the show's chance to be picked up for a second season-though they have not officially announced plans to cancel the series.

But even though fans of the show are still making efforts to save it via a change.org petition and tweeting #saveredbandsociety, the show isn't likely slated for a return-and there's no guarantee the final three episodes will be given an air date either, meaning fans also may not receive closure on the several loose storylines that were far from tied up on the show's fall finale.

Final Three Episodes of 'Red Band Society' Airing In 2015?

However, if the episodes are given the chance to air, EP Rina Mimoun told TV Line's Michael Ausiello that they would certainly give fans the closure they seek on several of the stories, while still leaving some things open for exploration in the chance the show is picked up for another season.

"As EP Rina Mimoun told us last month, the final three episodes of the medical drama's first season-which have yet to be scheduled by Fox-will provide 'closure for a lot of the current teen story lines' while showing ways that the adult characters' arcs could continue (on the off chance of a pickup announcement," Ausiello wrote in his spoiler chat column.

In addition to the news that closure would be provided, Ausiello also dished that Mimoun told him that the three remaining episodes would be jam-packed and feature tons of new faces and the return of a few old ones as well.

"Episode 11, meanwhile, will feature the return of Jess Macallan's Ashley and the introduction of Leo's family-including William Ragsdale (Herman's Head( as the heartthrob's dad," Ausiello continued. "Plus, the sometimes-underutilized Dash will be getting a love interest, played by newcomer Jessica Lu. 'We're packing a lot into the last three episodes of the season,' says Mimoun. 'I'll tell you that.'"
