Amazon's second generation tablet Kindle Fire 2 is expected to launch as early as September. Although no actual launch date has been confirmed, Amazon has been sending out press conference invitations, which has increased the hype about the Kindle Fire 2.

The date on the invitation points to September 6th, prompting speculation that the tablet will indeed be unveiled in early September. The invitation reads: "Please join us for an Amazon Press Conference." No further details have been given. There is no information on what the conference is even about.

However, it has already been once year since Amazon launched Kindle Fire, which turned out to be hugely successful.

The Kindle Fire 2 is expected to come in two sizes: 7-inch and 10-inch. This is to directly compete with the Google Nexus 7, the new iPad, and possibly the iPad Mini.

The new iPad Mini is expected to sell for $299 when it hits the market. The mini-tablet, which is rumored to be released in October, is expected to launch separately from the iPhone 5, which could be launched September 12.
The iPad Mini is expected to have a 7.85-inch display with a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels and a smaller charging port. It is expected to compete with other popular 7-inch devices such as Google's Nexus 7 tablet, Amazon's Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble's Nook.

Apple's latest tablet is already in production at Foxconn factories, according to analyst Peter Misek from Jeffries.
Analysts estimate Apple will sell tens of millions of iPad Minis within the first year.
