A new report reveals that Felicity (Emily Bett-Rickards) mother Donna Smoak (Charlotte Ross) will be returning in episode 18 of this season of Arrow.

Showrunner Dishes On Felicity's Reaction To Oliver's Death In Upcoming Episode Of Arrow

TVLine got word about Ross coming back on the show, although no other details about what motivates her to make an appearance have been revealed. It might have something to do with Oliver's (Stephen Amell) death, probably to counsel her daughter, or be there to comfort her as she is distraught.

The mid-season premiere for season 3 will be releasing later this month and a new promo for the episode was previously revealed and it teases the aftermath of Oliver's death as the darkness takes over.

What We Know So Far About The Mid-Season Premiere Of Arrow

John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) is seen breaking the news to the team, stating that Oliver's death. Other highlights that flash through the clip are Larel (Katie Cassidy) taking up the mantle of Black Canary. Ray (Brandon Routh) is also seen trying his suit as the Atom in the promo. A villain is seen stating that the darkness will take over the glades.

A recent report revealed that there would be flashback scenes set in Hong Kong in the upcoming episodes of season 3, and it is known that Amell has shot for these, as the flashbacks essentially told his backstory in the city. It was reported that Matthew Shrieve would be guest starring in the show, and would play a "significnat role in the flashbacks story line."

It was also revealed that he would make his first appearance via a Hong Kong flashback scene. This would mean that all of this could have something to do with Oliver's story, so fans who were worried they wouldn't get to see the hero again, might ease up a touch, as there might be some more of Amell to see.
