Originals Cyclops Says Tye Sheridan Is 'Perfect Fit' For 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Role

Fans quickly got behind the actress, lending their support and congratulating her on obtaining an iconic role in the Marvel realm.

Turner is joined by fellow newcomers Tye Sheridan (Mud) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B), who will be playing Cyclops and Storm, respectively.

The upcoming Marvel project is also set to include X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier).

The role of Jean Grey could do wonders for Turner, who is known primarily for playing Sansa Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones. The X-Men franchise helped diversify Lawrence's resume, allowing her to portray the alluring and deadly Mystique after having shined in the role of tomboy Ree Dolly in the Oscar-nominated Winter's Bone.

X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled to hit theatres on May 27, 2016.
