Lomas's attorney did admit that while he has a criminal past, he is not at fault for the incident involving Brown.

"He is devastated by the news of her medical condition," Philip A. Holloway said. He added that authorities have not taken action against Lomas and it doesn't look like they plan to.

"He was just a guy doing the best he could to get help for his friend."

He also confirmed reports that it was indeed Lomas, not Brown's longtime boyfriend Nick Gordon who discovered Brown in the bathtub.

"She appeared to be lifeless at that point in time. He pulled her out and he was the one who called 911 and initiated the medical process."

Lomas is restricted from visiting Brown because of hospital regulations.

Holloway continued and said, "His primary focus at this point in time is that he wants to get his good friend back. He continues to hope for her full and complete recovery."

As for Lomas's past, he was charged on drug and firearm possession just a couple of weeks ago on Jan. 14. Police responded to a call that claimed he was not only keeping his girlfriend hostage, but he drugged her as well. Lomas pleaded not guilty to that incident.

As of late, Brown is still unresponsive but has made subtle improvements. Brown is the only daughter of late singing icon Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown. Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub nearly three years ago, on Feb. 11, 2012. Her death was ruled an accident.
