Thursday night, Stay aired, which ended with Jeremy leaving Mystic Falls.

On Twitter McQueen revealed he received the "Best surprise" during his last day of shooting and called the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries "my other family".

With the tweets came a video The CW Television Network uploaded to its YouTube Channel, which can be viewed below.

McQueen's last day was filmed. It shows his fellow costars and even the crew cheering and celebrating his time on the series.

"Ladies and gentlemen and children of The Vampire Diaries we watched him grow from young, emo, scrawny, little punk to the most incredible, fast hunter hulk of all time," Plec said as the cast and crew crowded around McQueen who was laying on the set's floor.

Ian Somerhalder pulled McQueen into a hug at one point.

McQueen gave a little speech even: "I love you all. You guys are my family."

He was afraid of getting choked up so he kept it short. He even got a cake, but his face was smashed into it out of love.
