Empire continues to reign in its success on Fox and now Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' son Quincy has spoken out on why he turned down a major role for the mega-hit show.

It turns out Quincy, whose biological father is R&B singer Al B. Sure, said he was actually supposed to play the role of Lucious Lyon's promiscuous and rebellious youngest son Hakeem.

He confirmed reports that he walked away because he and the network could not come to an agreement when it came to his music rights.

"Theatrically, the deal, everything was great. No complaints there at all. I was ready to go. They didn't really let me know there was a music side that was mandatory that came with the theatrical contract," He told The Breakfast Club of Power 105.1 Monday. "It just took everybody for a loop because we went to negotiate and try to change a couple of things and they were just like, 'Nah.' But I was like, 'Wait, all contracts are negotiable right?' They were like 'Nope!'"

He said he called on Diddy in hopes of making a change but the show would not budge.

"They wanted everything," he said of the music rights negotiation, or lack thereof.

He said the process went on for months as Fox, Diddy and even the show's creator Lee Daniels and Executive Producer Brian Grazer. He confessed that many of his friends and family are giving him the side eye because he walked away from the show that is arguably the most successful of this season. Bryshere Gray has taken on the role.
