NCIS returns with a new episode on Mar. 10 called The Artful Dodger, which will guest star Robert Wagner as Senior.

On Tuesday, CBS released a press release about this upcoming episode, in which Senior will assist Gibbs (Mark Harmon), his son Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and the rest of the NCIS team on a murder case.

Senior comes to visit Tony as a surprise, but his knowledge and contacts within the black market art world will greatly help the team as they work to solve a murder involving a rare painting.

Evidence in the team's case will reveal that the rare painting, which is on loan was swapped for a fake.

Earlier this month, Wagner was on set shooting and Sean Murray (Timothy McGee on the show) snapped a photo with him, which he then shared on Twitter.

Wagner has not appeared on NCIS since last season in the episode called Dressed to Kill. He has appeared in five episodes so far of the CBS series, not including this upcoming one.

Back in January, showrunner and executive producer Gary Glasberg told FOX411 that having Wagner back on the show as Senior will just show viewers "how Tony deals with family situations and other relationships."

Weatherly and Wagner have terrific onscreen chemistry as son and father.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
