"I can't imagine a world without Abby in it," Perrette dished, "And I don't think anybody else wants that world either. I mean, I'm certainly not going to be responsible for a world without Abby - I don't want that on my shoulders."

She also mentioned she's "so grateful" to have the job.

"Every time I get a new script, I can't wait to see what on earth she's up to. People tell me constantly how much they love the character - and I say the same thing," she revealed.

Perrette also discussed how she has no desire to direct any episodes of the hit CBS series like her costars such as Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) and Rocky Carroll (Leon Vance) have.

"I'm so happy doing my job. I don't want to learn somebody else's job. I don't want to do anybody else's job. I want to go there [on set], play Abby and really enjoy every single second of it," she shared.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
