Well actress Mo'nique, most known for her lead roles in Precious The Parkers, revealed recently that she was actually supposed to play audience favorite, Cookie. Henson, who has dominated the role, found a classy way to respond to Monique's statement via Twitter.

Amid all of the commotion of Monique's statements, Henson simply retweeted Empire director Danny Strong, who shared his thoughts Sunday.

"Monique is so talented she'd be great in almost anything. But Cookie was always @TherealTaraji"

She also replied to a follower who wrote, "God will open doors no man can close." She wrote "#FACT"

Mo'nique shocked fans and Empire viewers when she said that the show's creator and executive producer Lee Daniels actually offered her the role as Cookie first. Daniels was the director behind Precious.

She told Inside Edition, "When he called me up, he offered me the role in 'Empire' as Cookie. Maybe four days had gone by, and I hadn't heard anything. So I'm trying to reach out to him to say, what time do I need to be in? Where do I need to be? When he finally returned the call, he says listen, the executives at Fox said that you're difficult."

All of this comes as Mo'nique said Daniels' told her she was blackballed from getting work in Hollywood. Mo'nique continued and said that she doesn't believe she's tough to work with, but Daniels told a different side to CNN's Don Lemon.

"There were demands that were made from her, on the Precious campaign that everyone knows about that hurt her."

Empire airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Fox.
