New teaser artwork for Insidious 3 hints at the return of the red faced demon in the third chapter of the horror franchise.

Filming Insidious: Chapter 3 Was "Hard And Stressful"?

The illustration, which shows half of the demon's face and half of a shadowed side profile of a man, was posted on the official Twitter account for the film.

"The only way out is in. Who's ready for #Insidious Chapter 3? In theaters June 5," the caption teased.

What We Know So Far About Insidious: Chapter 3

The monster was probably one of the most terrifying aspects of Insidious Chapter 2, and its return would definitely lend to the creepiness of the next instalment. But then director Leigh Whannell had dismissed any such possibility last year.

In October last year, Whannell dished about whether the red faced demon from the first chapter would return in the prequel, in a fan interaction.

During the special Facebook fan interaction, Whannell was asked a question about whether fans should prepare to be pushed to the edge of their seats by the creepy monster, which was unnamed in the movie.

When the question was asked again, Whannell went ahead and spilled a bit more stating that "there's an even scarier demon."

The first two films in the Insidious franchise were helmed by the writer-director team of Whannell and James Wan. But for Insidious 3 Whannell took over, he wrote and directed the film. Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott play the leads in the movie, and Lin Shaye, will be reprising her role as Elise.

Insidious: Chapter 2 was released on Sept. 13 and topped the U.S. box office scoring $41.1 million over in its opening weekend. The film stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, and Barbara Hershey reprised their roles from  the first film in the series.

Insidious 3 will hit theaters on April 3, 2015.

"I'm gonna go ahead and say no. Spoiler! No, it's an all new creature," he wrote in response.
