After a whole lot of speculation surrounding the development of Sinister Six, a report reveals that the movie has been scrapped altogether.

For any fans who were eagerly anticipating the rumored adaptation of the villain super group from the Marvel universe, there might be some very disappointing news. Although, there is no official word from the producers or studio, last week IndieWire stated that the movie will not be happening at all.

Previously it was revealed that Sony was delaying the production of the movie. IGN reported that while pre-production for the movie is on, the schedule for it has been pushed back a bit. This comes with the news of Spider Man joining the Marvel Universe.

Even though, little had been trickling through about the preproduction of Sinister Six, the producers of Sony Brazil teased the making of the movie for fans. The studio had posted images of the Vulture's wings and Doctor Octopus' tentacles via their Facebook page to tease fans about the making of.

The International Business Times sourced a tweet that stated that the movie would be shot in Vancouver. The Twitter user was excited about spotting Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man in the movie. In this instalment the superhero combats a group of supervillains from the Marvel franchise. The report went on to reveal that the information was sourced from someone who had worked on the Planet of the Apes movie.

Rumors about the release date for the film had also been doing the rounds. The Venture Capital Post sourced a Den of Geek report, stating that the movie would release on November 11, 2016.

The villains were likely to be the same as in the comic book -- Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio and Sandman. Doctor Octopus is the mastermind behind the plot to rue Spiderman's day, and seeks out villains who have encountered the superhero in the past and are out for vengeance. In the original plot, the team kidnaps Betty Brant and aunt May to get Spider-Man's attention, and then lure him into combat.

The last movie in the franchise was the Amazing Spider-Man, which starred Garfield and Emma Stone in the lead parts.
