After months of speculation, it looks like Khloe Kardashian will join Mario Lopez and co-host Season 2 of "The X Factor."

According to TMZ, the reality star and television host have already signed the deal but small details are still being finalized.

Kardashian's name had been on a list with other potential beauties seeking to fill the slot, including Stacey Keibler and former CNN news anchor Erin Andrews.

The site reported last month that Kardashian, Lopez and Disney "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu made the final cut and Simon Cowell would pick two out of the three.

Sources close to Cowell told the gossip site that Kardashian had his stamp of approval but ultimately it was up to the network to make the final decision. The show's creator said it was "very likely" she would get the job. But another report revealed E! network, who airs her reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," was not quite ready to give up their money making star.

The report claimed E! was concerned about the time the youngest Kardashian sister would have to spend to promote "The X Factor."

There was concern her press obligations would conflict with her current contractual obligations with the cable channel.

Hollywood Life reported on Oct.1 that she was close to sealing the deal. "Khloe will be in tons of meetings this week as Lamar [Odom] is now knee-deep in training camp and will also be going to Vegas and China within the next two weeks for the Clippers," a source told the website. "So Khloe has plenty of time for business as her lawyers, people from E!, and executives atThe X Factor will try to make it happen and get all the specifics hashed out."

As for the choice of Mario Lopez, not only is he more than qualified for the gig, but the network wants to make sure a "host is available at all times if Khloe has to be elsewhere for her E!" duties, according to the insider.

Lopez, 38, has been a guest host for the popular entertainment news show "Extra" since 2007.

He has also hosted "America's Best Dance Crew" for MTV and competed on the third season of "Dancing With The Stars."

Kardashian and Lopez will appear on season 2 of "The X Factor" next month.
