Apollo Nida might have caused a stir with Phaedra Parks on The Real Housewives of Atlanta before he went to jail in Kentucky, but in an interview that just surfaced he confessed his love for her.

"If I could say anything I definitely love her. I've grown to love her more. At one point I was her biggest fan," he told Sister 2 Sister founder Jamie Foster Brown.

Still, he couldn't deny that there were some issues in their union.

"I think that we lose sight of what the true picture is. We did take an oath to God and we did build a family, a brand and whatever has come of this reality fiasco, we have two beautiful children. I only wish her the best."

While Parks has gone to see a divorce lawyer about getting a split, Nida remains hopeful that his marriage will indeed "last."

"I hope that it does."

But he went on to say that whatever the outcome, "I refuse to be miserable."

Nida was sentenced to eight years in federal prison. He turned himself in but not before meeting up with Parks and asking her about speculation he had that she was cheating. Nida also told Foster what he thinks went wrong in their marriage that was once a happy one, before saying that he is often misrepresented on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

"I'm painted as the bad guy. There's been a lot of good things I've done on that TV show."
