After Lizzie Velasquez's life went into turmoil after she was called the "World's Ugliest Woman," she revealed how her life went into a complete 180 amid a horrible experience.

Lizzie Velasquez Speaks Out On Dr. Drew

On Thursday, People posted an interview with the young woman who was born with a rare syndrome that doesn't allow her to gain weight. When she was a teenager, she uncovered a YouTube video someone made where people left a number of bullying remarks about her. This included telling her to kill herself and calling her names.

"When I saw it my whole world just felt like it crashed at that moment," Velasquez said. "I thought, how in the world can I pick myself up from this?"

This gave Velasquez the choice to either crawl up in a hole and lose herself or to fight her way to the top. The 26-year-old is now an activist and motivational speaker where she couldn't be more grateful for how the result of this disgraceful video turned out.

"If I ever see that person [who made the video] I would jump on them and give them the biggest hug in the world and tell them, 'Thank you for bringing the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life,'" Velasquez said. "That video changed everything and it has given me the platform that I have now to be the voice for anyone who's ever been bullied- and not just myself."

Velasquez has a new documentary called A Brave Heart, which recently premiered at SXSW in Texas.
