Biggest Takeaways From Diddy Howard Commencement
Velasquez had to show her bravery after a terrible situation happened to her when she was younger. One day she was looking up music on YouTube when she found a video on herself where she was labeled as "The World's Ugliest Woman." Not only did this video receive millions of views, but people left awful comments on it, including, "EWWW WHAT A MONSTER!!!!" and "Why didn't her parents just abort her?!"
But rather than shutting herself off from the world, she became a motivational speaker. The trailer for her documentary gives more details on how her troubled life can be used to become helpful for others. Her first speech took place at Ted Talk where she explained how this changed her life.
"I like to think that I'm not only telling my story," she says in the clip. "I'm telling everyone's story."
