Scandal actress Kerry Washington is gracing the cover of Edit Magazine's new issue and she's talking all things Olivia Pope, fashion, and live tweeting up until the early stages of her labor with daughter Isabelle.

Washington recently sat down with the mag for her cover interview and she revealed how she pre-prepped her tweets so that people wouldn't realize she was giving birth.

"Every Thursday within three weeks of my daughter Isabelle's due date, I loaded up pre-tweets based on the episodes and what I would want to say," the actress said. "I tweeted in the very early stages of my labor. I figured that if I went completely silent on social media, then people would know I was in the hospital!"

In addition to live tweeting about the show, fans are also very interested in Olivia Pope's style.

"When we sat down to discuss Olivia's wardrobe, we had pulled all the same images off the Internet and from magazines," Washington said about she and costume designer Lyn Paolo.

"We wanted to get out of the typical navy-blue, boxy, 'woman in a man's suit' definition of power dressing," she said.

In the interview Washington admitted that she and Liv don't exactly share the same style, but there are a few things she wants to steal from her closet.

The actress says that she's been eyeing the big bags that were used last season and she also said that she would love to take a couple of Liv's coats. 

Viewers can see more of the actress on the ABC hit show Scandal, which airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m.
