During this current season, Bonnie (Kat Graham) was able to retrieve the cure since she was stuck in a couple of prison worlds and had to find her way back to the present day.

As of right now, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has possession of the cure, but it is currently unknown who will take it to become human again.

Joseph Morgan, who previously was on The Vampire Diaries as Klaus before getting his own spin-off show, The Originals, to tell the story of the original vampire family, recently weighed in on who should get to take the cure now that it is back in the storyline as a viable option.

On Wednesday, TV Line dished that Morgan wants Damon to take the cure.

"It would be interesting to see a human Damon," Morgan said, adding, "Let's see if he can still be sassy when he's not immortal."

Although, he did mention that if Damon does not take it and the cure could land itself in the storylines of The Originals, he would want his onscreen sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) to take it, but only once she is rightfully in her original body since she is currently possessing a witch's body, but the witch appears to be overpowering her.

"That's what she's always wanted," Morgan said of his onscreen sister wanting to be human and have a family.
