After Zayn Malik's shocking decision to quit One Direction took over the Internet, fans were eager to find out the relationship status between he and fiancé Perrie Edwards and it looks like the couple is stronger than ever.

A source close to the couple recently spoke with Hollywood Life about how the duo is coping after Malik's decision to the group, and apparently Edwards thinks her fiancé's decision was the 'best thing' for him.

"Perrie didn't really realize the extent of Zayn's problems until he came back home after quitting One Direction," a source tells the site.

"He really was quite fragile, and mentally shot to pieces about fame, fortune and everything that goes with that. But on their holiday in the south of France, she's been telling him that leaving 1D was the best thing he could've done for himself. If he had stayed, the consequences could've been a lot worse."

The insider told the site that Edwards is constantly reassuring her man that everything is going to be okay and it looks like they're spending a lot more time together.

Back in March new photos suggested that the singer was cheating on his girlfriend while on tour in Thailand. Malik denied that the rumors were true and then on Tuesday, the Daily Mail UK reported that the couple were stopped jetting in a luxury aircraft after Swedish model Martina Olsson accused Malik of cheating on his fiancée.

Edwards recently took to Instagram to share a new photo of the duo while on vacation, and it's clear that they are still together and still very happy.
