The synopsis for the next episode, titled 'A Place at the Table' of Criminal Minds reveals that Hotch (Thomas Gibson) will have a whole lot to deal with on the personal front.

"People Are Going To Lose Their Minds" With Episode 21 Of Criminal Minds

Hotch will try and make amends with his father-in-law, Roy, who will be played by guest star Ed Asner. The BAU detective will be spurred to turn his attention to his deceased wife's aging father as it will be revealed that Roy has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Roy holds Hotch responsible for his daughter's death so this one is going to be a very sticky situation for Hotch.

Here's the official synopsis:

"When a Maryland family is found murdered at their dining room table, the team is going to track down other family members and friends to uncover secrets that may have led to it. Also, Hotch will have to try to make peace with his father-in-law, Roy, after discovering he's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's."

Previously, TVGuide revealed a first look at Asner as the father of Hotch's late wife, Haley, in the CBS procedural. Asner also spoke to the publication about his character on the show and what causes him to make a sudden appearance in Hotch's life.

"I'm going through dementia and I created an incident and I'm arrested," Asner said. "With his status as top FBI dog, he comes out and gets me out of jail. We're not close. He's the father of my cherished grandson Jack, but he's responsible for my daughter being brutally murdered."

The episode is set to air on April 15 on CBS.
