They might not be on speaking terms right now, but at one point it looks as though Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb really did want to start a family together. In fact, a new report says that Vergara "insisted" on having a surrogate to carry her baby.

Sofia Vergara Admits That She Is Doing Whatever It Takes To Look Young These Days

According to Closer Weekly on Friday, Vergara's doctor told her that getting pregnant would have been harmful to her health. The Latina beauty apparently showered a friend with $200,000 in excessive gifts, hoping that she would be her surrogate, even though the couple's lawyers advised against it at the time.

"Although the parties' counsel expressly advised the parties against compensating a gestational surrogate, upon information and belief, without [Nick's] consent, and over [Nick's] repeated objections, [Sofia] provided the surrogate a variety of expensive gifts in exchange for her services," court papers said.

Sofia Vergara's Ex-Fiance Nick Loeb Dishes On Her New Relationship

Now, the Hollywood actress is reportedly firing back at her ex-fiance, who claims that she wants to destroy the embryos they created together before they split up back in 2013.

According to In Touch Weekly on Tuesday, Loeb filed a lawsuit in California to prevent Vergara from destroying her embryos. The ex-couple created them six months before they split up.

"Nick has always wanted to be a father and will do whatever it takes to save these two remaining female embryos," an insider reportedly told In Touch. "Nick is very emotionally invested in these female embryos because he's pro-life and believes life begins at conception."

Vergara's lawyer said in a statement, "The claims made against Sofia Vergara by Nick Loeb are incredible and hold no merit. Vergara has never wanted to destroy her embryos."

"Vergara has never suggested that she wished to have the embryos destroyed," adds her attorney's statement. "She has always maintained that they be kept frozen, a fact of which Loeb and his counsel have always been aware, despite Loeb's statements to the contrary."
