Sarah Hyland Explains Why She's Gotten 'Super Paranoid'

On Monday, Deadline announced that the Vampire Academy actor will be playing Jace in the new ABC Family series Shadowhunters based on The Mortal Instruments novels.

The series will be about a girl named Clary Fray who discovers that she is not who she thinks she is. It turns out that she comes from a group of human-angel hybrids called 'Shadowhunters' who hunt demons. She then gets tossed into this outrageous world of fighting demons with Jace (Sherwood) in a battle against werewolves, vampires and more evil creatures.

Sherwood's character is expected to be an expert in hunting demons as he goes on a vengeance spree against the monster who killed his father.

The actor is currently dating Modern Family star Sarah Hyland. She took to her Twitter page to show her support for her boyfriend on his new role. She posted the Deadline link and added a number of smiley face emojis and hearts to show her love for Sherwood and his new gig.

In an interview with Seventeen's May 2015 issue, Hyland talked about how important it is to set goals and strive to accomplish them.

"When you're feeling vulnerable, it can lead to doubt and second-guessing," she said, posted on News.com. "It will steer you away from your goals and your happiness. Once you have a goal, keep moving forward- even if you're taking baby steps."
