Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood seem to have a fun and happy relationship since the two have been close for a long time now.

During an appearance at an H&M Coachella party on Friday, the actress talked to People about a little stunt that her boyfriend pulled on her when she walked inside a room as he was waiting to scare her. In the Instagram shot, Sherwood quietly waits in the hallway as he hears his girlfriend's footsteps walk in. When she gets close, he yells out her name causing her to scream and laugh it off.

"I've gotten super paranoid because one of my really good friends [scares] his girlfriend's roommate all the time, so I guess Dom took a cue from him," Hyland revealed.

The actress then told the publication that she and Sherwood "have been best friends for like, two years."

Hyland was previously in a relationship with Matthew Prokop, but according to Hollywood Life, they did not end on the greatest terms.

"Matt has been bombarding her and her management team with distressed calls, texts and messages on social media," a source said. "He knows he shouldn't be contacting her but he just won't stop, saying he still loves her. He even threatened to kill himself."

The site also mentioned that the actress was eventually granted a restraining order against Prokop. The two were together for five years.
