On Tuesday, E! News (via MSN Entertainment) confirmed that the actress has filed for divorce from her husband and documents have been processed with the court.

According to a source, the two would be citing irreconcilable differences for the reason to end their marriage. The site pointed out that the Oscar winner and her Coldplay star husband have been spending some time together lately with their two children, Apple, 10, and Moses, 7. Odds are likely though that this was purely for the the kids' benefits.

When Paltrow made an appearance on Howard Stern's radio show, she admitted that spending time with her husband can be a bit of a challenge as they go through the process of calling it quits in their relationship.

"We laugh and we have fun but there are times when it's really difficult," she said. "Things happen and you're like, 'I'm sure he doesn't want to hang out with me and I don't want to hang out with him,' but for the sake of the kids, you do it...you say, 'I really want to find the love for you and I want to forgive you and I want you to forgive me and let's have some fun as a family."

Paltrow and Martin had been married for 11 years.
