Alicia (Julianna Margulies) had only just dipped her toes in the murky vortex of politics and she was sucked in and spat out.

The Good Wife Renewed For Two More Seasons?

In a recent interview with E! Online Margulies revealed that Alicia might not have it in her to fight it out and play dirty anymore, and this might be the last fans see of her in the political arena.

"My guess is she's going to stay away from politics...I think she's so disgusted with the system," Margulies said.

Will Johnny Elfman Return To Pursue Alicia?

Now that she has to drag herself back to her old profession, it's not going to be easy as it has been speculated that her partners Diane (Christine Baranski) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) won't be as welcoming. Margulies stated that Alicia will not back down on that front and will force her way back in.

"I think she'll find the good in it and she'll probably fight twice as hard," Margulies said. "But I can guarantee you, it's going to cause conflict in the courtroom."

Previously, as part of the show's pre-finale spoilers, TVLine had showrunner Robert King weigh in on what twists fans can expect. King spoke about how Alicia was up against the most powerful in Chicago as is, but even as she leaves that cutthroat world she will not find solace in her old job, as there might be some confusion about her status at the firm.

"She's lined up against forces that are so ingrained in Chicago, and there's no way to fight them. In an ideal universe, people could go to the press and bring attention to the corruption, but those aren't the waters that Alicia and Peter swim in," he said.

The next episode, titled 'The End.' will air on April 26 on CBS.
