A lot of fans had presumeed that Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) character arc had been concluded on the latest episode of The Good Wife but then the showrunners suggested that the detective will make an appearance in the finale.

The Good Wife Renewed For Two More Seasons?

The suggestion was very open ended with the assumption that she could also appear in a flashback. But a new report by TVLine states that it will be more than that and will give fans what they have been seeking for a long time. The publication has it from a good source, that Kalinda and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will get a moment to seek closure, and the scene will be heartbreaking in the finale episode, titled 'Old Issues.'

Co-creator Robert King spoke about building things up to this momentous occasion. It "is very much intentional to raise expectations," he said. King also added that fans should "stay tuned."

In a previous interview with Entertaiment Weekly, showrunner Michelle King had already revealed that Kalinda would be returning for the finale.

Michelle stated that this was not the last of Kalinda, and that the detective would appear in the finale of season 6. "Yes. We will see her," she said.

She went on to reveal that fans wouldn't be left with an open, loose ended conclusion to Kalinda's story, as seemed likely in the last episode, titled 'The Deconstruction.' There is more to come and it will hopefully render a more neat completion to the detective's story on the show.

The next episode, titled 'Don't Fail,' will air on May 3 on CBS.
