They've been struggling to make the romance they both want work for some time, but Nicole's (Arianne Zucker) new decision concerning a future with Daniel (Shawn Christian), while shocking, may not be everything it seems on Days of Our Lives.

Nicole & Daniel Have Another Major Blow-Up

After yet another fight following the drama in Italy with Melanie (Molly Burnett) and Brady (Eric Martsolf), Nicole happened to overhear a phone conversation between Serena (Melissa Archer) and Xander (Paul Tefler) which alluded to the two being co-collaborators on a scheme--after Serena threatened him that she has as much dirt as he does that she isn't afraid to use if he doesn't cooperate with her. Considering her bad blood and touchy history with Serena, Nicole filed the information away, hoping she'd be able to find a way to use it later on.

Now, after hearing Serena accept a new job in Honolulu, and learning that her enemy intends to convince Eric (Greg Vaughan) to go with her, Nicole will be spurred into action to prove Serena is crooked once and for all. However, the move would not only hurt any chances with Daniel, but would require her to make some manipulative and sneaky maneuvers of her own.

As a result, when Daniel goes to her to apologize for their latest fight and beg her to work things out with him, Nicole will shockingly tell him she is finished trying and walk out--and will likely head to Xander to capitalize on the feelings he has made clear he has for her. If she can use Xander successfully and get information about just what he and Serena are involved in, she can not only take her enemy down for good, but possibly save Eric and even Daniel as well.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
