A new report has shot the rumors about the continuation of The Hunger Games series after Mockingjay Part 2 into a very exciting space.

Movie News Guide speculates that there could be a crossover between Divergent and The Hunger Games to keep the fans of both franchises hooked. Although Divergent has one more movie to go, the last in the series, Allegiant, which is set for release on March 15, 2016.

Recently, Den of Geek reported that after a new round of calls with investors the search for new stories to continue with the Hunger Games series is on. According to the publication, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer stated that they were looking for sequel or prequel possibilities. He said that they were "actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities" for The Hunger Games.

Hunger Games Team Reuniting For New Film Adaptation? 

He went on to add that they were inspired by the Warner Bros. move to do something more with the Harry Potter series.

In December last year, Movie Pilot speculated that since the Hunger Games franchise had been incredibly popular, Lionsgate could look to extend it, especially since their other properties don't even touch the popularity of this one. The report flirted with the possibility of a spin-off focusing on the future of District 13.

Part 2 stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mallark, Liam Helmsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, and Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin.

The movie will hit theaters on Nov. 18.
