Downton Abbey is coming to an end after the sixth season, but could it perhaps lead into a feature film?

'Downton Abbey' Actor Says There Will Be Tears When Series Ends

On Wednesday, Express posted the news from Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore) during her appearance on This Morning. She weighed in on the rumors that there might be a Downton Abbey movie- and based on what she said, it definitely seems possible.

"The Christmas special will happen, and then there's talk of a film but we don't know," the actress said.

Last Moments Of 'Downton Abbey' Are Expected To Be 'Very Exciting'

It might be too soon to tell, but if there's "talk" happening, perhaps the writers might want to keep that talk going.

Nicol then opened up on how emotional it's going to be one the series has its final moments.

"It's not like any other job," she said. "There'll be tears for sure."

She then mentioned if her character will have a happy ending or not. Apparently, she has a few ideas on what could happen for her and it's all a matter of what the writers choose.

"I have put in a few suggestions, but we don't know until he decides what to do. And I'm not saying who," she said.

In a previous post from ITV, Jim Carter (Mr. Carson) revealed that he is hoping the best for his character as well as Mrs. Hughes.

"I'll leave that to [series creator] Julian Fellowes, but Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes have got to get together, haven't they?" he said.

Downton Abbey Season 6 is expected to premiere in the United States in January 2016 on PBS.
