It’s official! Fox’s Empire will be taking over Wednesday nights once again this fall; and if fans thought they were left with cliffhangers last season, it’s only kicked up a notch this time around.

Chairman and CEO for Fox, Gary Newman, told reporters at TV Upfronts Monday, “The stories we’ve heard already for season two will blow away the audience.”

With Lucious Lyon in jail, Jamal taking over Empire and his brothers Hakeem and Andre trying to stop him, there’s no telling where the story will head next season.

To say the series was a huge success in its debut season earlier this year is an understatement. So it was inevitable the series would be handed the green light for a sophomore season. Viewers can get ready for even more stars to show up.

For starters, funny guy Chris Rock and iconic singers Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz are just some of the familiar faces that will make cameos this fall. Singer and epic songwriter NeYo (along with Timbaland) will also be penning some of the hits to be featured! But, the jury is still out on whether Oprah Winfrey will be making her way to the show. But co-creator Lee Daniels and some of the co-stars said she is the ultimate celebrity they hope appears on the show.

But considering the show was granted six more episodes than last season (it went up from 12 to 18), it’s very possibly that Mama O will be on the show.

Gabourey Sidibe (Becky) and Ta’Rhonda Jones (Porsha) were also bumped from recurring roles to series regulars. Singer Brandy addressed speculation she's going to be on the show as well. Check it out.
