There has been a whole lot of speculation surrounding the cast of Transformers 5.

Latest Updates About Transformers 5

The only cast member that has been confirmed is Mark Wahlberg, who played Cade Yaeger in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Wahlberg has reportedly signed on for three Transformers movies. But there has been no word about the new faces that Age of Extinction introduced reprising their roles in the sequel. The movie was meant to be a big break for Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor, like it had been for predecessors Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, but the new duo did not pass muster.

Peltz and Reynor did not leave much of an impression, and it seems unlikely that they will be called back to star in the sequel to Age of Extinction. Rumors about the old actors, Fox and LaBeouf are weak. Both, LaBeouf and Fox have been pretty noncommittal. In fact, LaBeouf was not keen on coming back. He even recently dissed the Transformers franchise in an interview.

Transformers 5 Sticking To 2016 Release Date?

The only recourse seems to be that the movie might launch new faces, and actors who might match up to Fox and LaBeouf. The development for Transformers 5 is still in the writing stage, and director Michael Bay is reportedly coming back. Wahlberg will still play the pivotal role, but let's hope there is some official word about the supporting cast soon.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
