One of the biggest highlights of the Billboard Music Awards, which took place on May 17, was Wiz Khalifa's tribute to Paul Walker performing the no. 1 hit from Furious 7, "See You Again."

Paul Walker's Character To Be Replaced By Brother, Cody, In Furious 8?

Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson came on stage to introduce the performance, and reiterated how the song was immortalized as a tribute to Walker.

"It is only right that I'm standing here with my brother, Tyrese Gibson," Ludacris said. "We're ready to make this next introduction, the song 'See You Again,' from the 'Furious 7′ has become a fitting and moving tribute to our very close friend and co-star, the late great Paul Walker."

Furious 7 Should Win Best Oscar, According To Vin Diesel

An emotionaly stirred Gibson also added to the remembrance. "We'll never forget him. Make some noise for my brother Paul Walker!" he said.

On the occasion MTV sourced an interview with Khalifa in which he spoke about composing the track for Furious 7, and how honored he was to be doing that. The most interesting bit from the interview was when Khalifa said that he felt like a character in the movies, as he had also worked on a song for Fast and Furious 6. He obviously meant that with his consistent contribution he had come to be crucial to the franchise, but we wonder if this could actually relay into his portraying a part in the next movie. Ludacris was also essentially a rapper before Fast and Furious came along and gave him his acting break. Fast and Furious 8 is looking to cast some new roles to make up for the loss of Walker. Perhaps Khalifa could join the crew.
