He has made a shocking decision to get down on one knee and present her with a diamond ring, but Melanie (Molly Burnett) may be forced to break Brady's (Eric Martsolf) heart on Days of Our Lives.

Brady's Plans For The Future Are Halted By Theresa

After everything that has transpired during their relationship, including the truth coming out about him being a father to Theresa's (Jen Lilley) baby, Brady realized he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with Melanie by his side, as his wife. But he will be shocked when she doesn't necessarily give him the answer he was hoping for.

Melanie wants to say yes to Brady because she loves him more than anything, but she knows Theresa won't take to the engagement lightly--and Melanie doesn't want to cause the man she loves any sort of trouble or unnecessary drama when it comes to his newly found son. As a result, she may tell him no--which will bring the couple into an unexpected and unchartered territory.

Melanie Worries About Her Place In Brady's Life

What Melanie understands about their situation that Brady doesn't, is the fact that Theresa won't give him up without a fight. Even though the two broke up long ago, and Melanie was the reason her son was found, rescued, and back where he belongs, Theresa sees her son as a reason for she and Brady to finally work through all of the issues they had in the past, and be a family--something that can't happen if he is engaged--or married to--Melanie. Knowing that Theresa could be conniving so she can get what she wants, Melanie realizes that saying yes could cause Theresa to take extreme action--like threatening to keep Brady's son from him.
