Showrunners Dish About Kalinda's Replacement In Season 7

People magazine caught up with Panjabi while she was promoting her latest film San Andreas and spoke about her exit from The Good Wife. The actress revealed that she was a bit thrown off with the viewers' response to Kalinda's exit and wasn't intitally as emotional about her exit as she had known she was leaving for a while.

"It was such an easy decision for me [say goodbye to Kalinda] because I had made up my mind, but when I actually left, and I listened to the reaction of the fans, I felt like I betrayed them," she said. "Just seeing the reaction was a little bit of a surprise. Not that I didn't know that there was a lot of love for her, but just hearing the way that people spoke about her, I was getting stopped in the street and I felt terribly guilty."

But the actress also revealed that she borrows some strength from her character Kalinda to counter the sadness.

"I knew I was going, and Kalinda is such a strong character, so I get a lot of strength from her. It was sad to leave, but I was also happy because it felt right."

The Good Wife recently came under attack for a scene in the finale which offered some form of closure between Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Kalinda. The scene had been doctored and the two actresses didn't enact it together.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
