Bangladesh will end an 11-month hiatus from the Test match format when they take on the West Indies in Dhaka on Tuesday.  Uncharacteristically of the squad, Bangladesh has been inconsistent this year.  While the Tigers showed a high level of success at the Asia Cup, the team didn't fare nearly as well in the World Twenty20.

While Bangladesh does possess exceptional talent, the team has struggled to work as a cohesive unit.  However, the Tigers have continued to put their faith in the spin duo of Sohag Gazi and Abul Hasan.  The latter had played well on the big stage in Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Nonetheless, the management of Shakib Al Hasan's workload is essential.  The hosting team can't afford to have their best batsman on too many spells if the slow bowlers aren't picking him up.

According to Cric Hotline, Premier batsman Chris Gayle spoke of the importance of the Test cricket despite his success in ODIs and T20s.

"I am happy to be part of the World Twenty20, it feels good.  It's a milestone.  But we have to play well in the longer format of the game, that has been our major challenge.  I have made the necessary adjustments from limited over's cricket to Tests and it will be a challenge," he said.
