The Blind Side has had a negative impact on the career of Michael Oher.

Super Bowl Bound Baltimore Ravens Line Backer Raises Awareness for Gay Rights

Despite the movie's success, Oher, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009, said in a new interview that he has been put under a microscope because of his high-profile career in the NFL.

"People look at me, and they take things away from me because of a movie. They don't really see the skills and the kind of player I am," Oher recently explained, according to ESPN. "That's why I get downgraded so much, because of something off the field...This stuff, calling me a bust, people saying if I can play or not ... that has nothing to do with football. It's something else off the field. That's why I don't like that movie.''

The Blind Side made more than $300 million, and garnered Sandra Bullock an Oscar -- and a Golden Globe award.

"That's taken away from my football,'' Oher said. "That's why people criticize me. That's why people look at me every single play.''

After being drafted, Oher went on to win the Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2012 as their starting left tackle. Two years later, Oher signed a five-year, $20 million deal with the Tennessee Titans, but was released after injuring his toe.

"Offensive linemen don't get looked at,'' Oher continued. "Nobody is paying attention to the offensive line. But me? I'm getting watched for everything. I know what type of player I am. Everybody else that I know knows what type of player I am. So that kind of stuff doesn't worry me.''

Oher is currently playing for the Carolina Panthers.
