Matt Czuchry, who plays Cary Agos in The Good Wife, talked to The Wrap about season 6 and the Emmys.

Will Alicia Finally Divorce Peter In Season 7?

Speaking about how the experience filming season 6 when compared with the previous seasons, Czuchry revealed that as his character's career and life were on the line this time around, the whole process got pretty intense.

"Staying constantly in the proper emotional headspace for that 11-episode arc. My character's arc this year involved going to prison and having an impending trial hanging over his head," he said. "So If I wanted that arc to be believable to the audience, it's not like I could finish shooting a scene and then go up to my trailer and make calls or answer emails. That was incredibly taxing. But the audience seemed to connect with it and that brought me a lot of satisfaction."

Elsbeth Set To Return In Season 7?

But it wasn't all dark and depressing as Czuchry suggested that there were a few fun highlights, including a creating a gory scene involving a whole ton of fake blood.

"The fun was in the challenge of coming home from an exhausting day and feeling like you made these incredibly complex imaginary situations come to life. In addition to that, there's a scene where my character gets his hand sliced as a test of loyalty to the biggest drug dealer in Chicago," he said. "It was fun making that scene come to life with all the special effects. The plastic tube holding all the fake blood exploded and huge amounts of blood squirted all over the crew. So that was a pretty damn fun day."

A recent report also rooted for Czuchry being nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the Emmys this year. Czuchry was asked who else on The Good Wife was deserving of an Emmy.

"Robert and Michelle King are the creators of the show and everything begins and ends with them," he said. "They won the Writer's Guild Award last season, and I would love for them to get recognition for writing Season 6."

Finally, the actor was asked to address the controversial season 6 finale scene in which Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) sought closure. Czuchry was obviously very p.c. about it and chose to give a non answer: "That's a question for the producers. That's how I'll answer that."

Season 7 of the legal drama is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
