Reporter Asks Charlize Theron If She Was Planning To Marry Sean Penn, How Did She Respond?

On Sunday, X17 shared photos of the Oscar winning star as he spent the day in Malibu, California with his 21-year-old son, Hopper. Penn wore casual attire with a leather jacket as his son sported a light button-up shirt with jeans and a backwards hat.

The two guys took a moment to sit down and smoke a cigarette together. For the most part, the actor looked pretty solemn although the site mentioned that he could be taking the breakup pretty badly since it apparently looks like he's not showering.

Most of the details on Penn and Theron's split remains a mystery except for the rumor that the Mad Max actress is the one who supposedly called it off. This comes as a bit of a surprise since it was only last May when Daily Mail posted an interview when the actress explained why Penn fell for her.

"I was happy when I met Sean and I think that's why he fell in love with me- because I was happy and fulfilled and had a healthy dose of love for myself- and he's the same," Theron said. "He doesn't fill a hole in me and I don't fill a hole in him."

Penn was married to Madonna and Robin Wright. Theron has never been married.
