On Friday the oldest One Direction member reminisced on his audition seeing as it is the five-year mark. The once floppy fringe-haired teen sang the Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah," which earned him three yeses from the panel of judges that included Simon Cowell.

Tomlinson is still stunned over all that has amounted since auditioning as a solo artist on the reality singing competition show.

"5 years ago today since my audition! Still an impossible thing to comprehend!" he gushed.

He went on to share his gratitude for all the support he and his bandmates have received since they were put together on the show. Tomlinson admitted to "feeling emotional" from thinking about his audition too since the time has flown by at such a quick pace since then. It's remarkable what he and the rest of his bandmates have gone on to accomplish.

Tomlinson's mother Johannah Deakin also celebrated the five-year mark by sharing a photo of her son from the day he auditioned.

"5 years on & still the same boy & still my best friend," she happily beamed. Tomlinson's bandmate Niall Horan also jumped onboard to get nostalgic. "Wow! Crazy isn't it..." the Irish 1D member shared.

It has indeed been quite the ride and currently the guys can be found on tour in North America.
