A short time after sharing her first tweet, Gunvalson went into greater detail about what had happened.

During the currently airing 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, fans watched as Gunvalson learned news of her mother's passing during a heartwrenching phoone call, and proceeded to attempt to grieve over her loss. All the while, Gunvalson's longtime boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, has been battling cancer.

At the time of her mother's death, Gunvalson revealed it was her brother, Billy, who found the deceased woman, Joanne Steinmetz, lying in bed peacefully. Because no autopsy was conducted, no one knew how or why she died, as she hadn't been suffering from any health issues leading up to her passing.
