The producers behind FX's American Horror Story have yet to reveal the theme for season 6, but let's take a look at what's known so far about the upcoming installment.

The finale of American Horror Story: Hotel aired two months ago, but there is still no sign of what season 6 will be about. Showrunner Ryan Murphy hasn't said a word about the new concept and very few cast members have been confirmed.

However, the TV festival PaleyFest has been going on this week and there will be several cast members present on Saturday, so we may get more details very soon. But for now, let's take a look at what we know about season 6 thus far.

First off, we know that Angela Bassett is the only 100 percent confirmed star for season 6. The actress has told multiple publications that she is returning and has teased out a few details regarding her new character. Bassett said recently that she thinks she's playing a psychic who has a drinking problem.

Bassett also alluded to one other cast member who may be coming back. The actress said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that "maybe Sarah [Paulson] somehow was the boss of me," indicating that Paulson will be returning yet again. Paulson has not confirmed this herself, nor has anyone else involved with the show.

Lady Gaga was asked if she was returning to the show after making her big debut in Hotel. She said that she will be back, but there was no indication if she meant for season 6 or a future season. After all, she does has an album coming out this year so she may be too busy promoting and touring.

As for the setting itself, FX president Landgraf let it slip to TCA press tour critics back in January that season 6 will be "set in the present" but with "echoes of the past." This is a change from tradition with American Horror Story, as odd-numbered seasons are always set in the present while even-numbered seasons are set in the past. He added that it is "set in two time periods" but is primarily in the present.

American Horror Story season 6 premieres this fall on FX.
