Phil Robertson's suspension from Duck Dynasty has been overturned, A&E announced on Friday.

The series' patriarch found himself in a bit of hot water over the holidays following an interview with GQ magazine, during which Robertson made comments regarding homosexuality and racism. After the hunter's opinions received backlash from various civil and gay rights groups, the network quickly announced his open-ended suspension from the unscripted program.

The Robertson clan, however, were willing to put the entire show on the line in an effort to back the Duck Commander. Meanwhile, groups of fans drafted petitions and/or threatened to boycott the station if A&E did not reinstate the Louisiana-based duck call purveyor.

"Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man's views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family... a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness," A&E announced in a statement, according to USA Today. "After discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family."

Duck Dynasty will premiere its fifth season on Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. ET.
