He may be a star on the silver screen, but Evan Peters has become a sensation in the superhero world also for his portrayal of Quicksilver in the last X-Men movie. But how did the actor land the part? It seems like the X-Men director is a American Horror Story fan.

Speaking with BuzzFeed on Wednesday about the latest season of the hit FX anthology series, Peters talked briefly about what led him to the Quicksilver role and how the casting people were surprised by him.

"Bryan Singer [who directed X-Men: Days of Future Past] saw the show and wanted to put me in the movie as Quicksilver," Peters said. "Just having directors and people I want to work with see the show and want to work with me is something that has been amazing, and nothing I ever thought would happen."

Peters went on to be a scene-stealer in the film, namely his brief scene that showed off his superpower (super speed) as he saved Magneto, Professor X, Beast, and Wolverine from a group of security guards looking to gun them down. The scene was a fan favorite and earned him a role in the follow-up movie.

Now with fans getting a taste of the character, it looks like he could be in line for an expanded role. The actor is confirmed to appear again, but there is no word yet whether his role will be a short stint like last time or him joining the team for an extended portion of time.

With how well his brief scene went last time, it would seem likely for Singer to find more time for Peters' character in the next film, which could build the actor's star even more.

X-Men: Apocalypse comes out on May 27, 2016.
