After years of being treated like she was invisible, it occurred to Kaling that she might actually be invisible.

Since she was invisible, the Mindy Project actress realized that she could do just about anything she wanted.

Kaling is seen stealing food off of people's plates, sitting naked in New York's Central Park, eating a bucket of ice cream in the store without paying and walking through the car wash.

The Nationwide insurance commercial first made its debut on Good Morning America on Thursday, and the actress opened up about the new television spot.

"My writers and I had so much fun brainstorming ideas for this ad because it was all about wish fulfillment," Kaling said, hence the scene of her sitting fully naked in a park.

"All of us, even beautiful, young Hollywood celebrities like me, have been in situations where we feel invisible."
