Troian Bellisario, also known as Spencer in the popular melodrama Pretty Little Liars, opened up to Interview about her eating disorder, where she discussed her pain, suffering, and recovery. The 31-year-old actress has been suffering with anorexia and is working on a personal project to help cope and spread awareness.

Bellisario is currently working on a movie called Feed, which she produced, wrote, and stars in. The movie serves as an outlet for the actress where she was able to express her battles with anorexia.

"I found there were so many people who thought that it was about losing weight or being skinny, and I couldn't quite get them to understand that it was about control on a very, very literal level."

"I couldn't get anyone-even the people who loved me the most, even my boyfriend or my mother or my father-to understand what that experience was truly like for me," said the actress while speaking on how isolated and alone she felt.

Her father, Donald P. Bellisario, is a writer, director, and producer and her mother, Deborah Pratt, is an actress. Troian Bellisario is married to Suits star, Patrick J. Adams. She said she wrote the script prior to Pretty Little Liars but the show's consistent filming prevented her from investing more time on it.

Bellisario grew frustrated with the intense shooting of Pretty Little Liars and eventually, turned her plans for her project into a reality. Feed is expected to come out on July 18 on digital platforms and VoD.

"I found myself attempting to communicate something in a scene, and somebody had the realist point of view, where they were like, 'Can you just say the line? Let's get a move on because we've got to get this.'' said Troian Bellisario.

With Pretty Little Liars ending, now Bellisario has more time to focus on her personal project rather than continuing to put it on pause.
