Robert Pattinson wants to play Batman's role again, but there is currently an issue regarding the potential "The Batman" sequel.

After facing delays, "The Batman" will finally arrive on big screens on March 4. Previously, it received multiple release dates from June to October 2021, but all got canceled due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though the film is yet to come out, Pattinson already shared that he wants to play the role again.

In a new interview with ET's Nischelle Turner, the 35-year-old "Twilight" actor said he recently talked to director Matt Reeves about reprising his role.

"I was talking to Matt about it yesterday, and it's funny because he keeps saying he's got ideas," Pattinson says of starring as Bruce Wayne in another Batman movie. "There's so much I love. I'm just so proud of the movie and it would be so fun to do it again," he said.

However, his co-star, Colin Farrell - who plays Penguin's role - said that it is too early to decide on a sequel since they are still in the early process of "creating this world."

The actor explained that Pattinson and the whole team need to get into what made Batman the man he is. With that, they have to follow where the upcoming film will be finished and pick up the earliest time after "The Batman" days.

"The Batman" Story Still in Early Days but Fun

Despite his 50-50 stand on the future of "The Batman," Farrell noted that he is also having fun in playing Penguin's role, a.k.a Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot.

"His violence is apparent, his propensity for violence and his ability to use it as a tool is apparent, but [also] to see we all have soft spots. Every single person. And to be able to find that location, dig around it would be fun," he went on.

Pattinson, for his part, is still on his adjustment period. He said that he already got "pretty good at getting in and out" of the film but still found scenes involving water truly challenging.

For what it's worth, Pattinson has to wear Batman's suit at all times regardless of the scene. Unfortunately, he felt like the Michelin Man.
