We have some new information about the pandemic.

No, not this one.

Scientists have recently discovered the origins of the Black Death. 600 years after the Bubonic Plauge, the answer to where the deadly desease came from has finally been answered.

The disease lasted five hundred years ,and ravaged the lives of many. It caused widespread harm in horrifically epic proportions that we have never seen anything like in our lifetimes (not even within the throes of the Covid-19 pandemic).

The scientists discovered evidence that locates the start of the illness back to Kyrgyzstan. According to an article on Metro:

"The team foound the cemeteries, at Kara-Djigach and Burana, had already been excavated in the late 1880s, with about 30 skeletons taken from the graves, but were able to trace them and analyse DNA taken from the teeth of seven individuals.

"The sequencing, which determines the DNA structure, showed three individuals carried Yersinia pestis, a bacterium which is linked to the beginning of the Black Death outbreak before it arrived in Europe."

This discovery has been many years in the making. One of the scientists, Dr. Slavin, exclaimed:

"Our study puts to rest one of the biggest and most facinating questions in history and determines when and where the single most notorious and infamous killer of humans began."

Furthermore, this discovery is especially important due to the current state of the world. With this disovery, the world has taken a major step forward in the understanding of how mass infectious diseases form and spread.
