King Charles III Hopeful About Reconciliation With Prince Harry — But Duke of Sussex Failed To Do This
Queen Elizabeth II's death allowed royal family members to reunite, and King Charles III wanted Prince Harry to be part of it.
Following Megxit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - unfortunately - only came back during a time of tragedy. The fact that they came back together to attend the State Funeral, a source believed that the monarch's passing could ignite the healing process.
But that was not the case after all.
In a new report by The Telegraph, a source said that the current King was hopeful that things would finally get better between Prince Harry and other royal family members since he still loves his child after all the things that happened.
"It remains the case that the King loves both of his children. Over the last 16 days or so, there were tremendous flickers of hope. In terms of the future, there is the hope of a cause for the unity," the insider continued.
However, Prince Harry seemingly shrugged off the idea soon after learning that his father disapproved of Meghan's appearance as it would deem "inappropriate."
Meanwhile, OK! Magazine noted how the monarch tried hard to reconnect with his son. In fact, he sent an invitation to him for dinner whenever he would be in the country. However, the insider said the Duke of Sussex was too furious to eat with his father and brother.
Meghan, on the other hand, reportedly requested a face-to-face chat with King Charles III. Reporter Neil Sean saw the move as an act of bravery, but it remains unknown whether the talk ever happened.
Prince William, Prince Harry "Missed" the Opportunity
Aside from King Charles III, Prince William also had his chance to fix his relationship with his brother during Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently sat down for an interview with a publication (per Soap Spoiler) and talked about the missed opportunity the royal brothers had. She noted that Prince William and Prince Harry frequently appeared together, and they could have planned a meeting or dinner to discuss their feud.
In one moment, the heir to the throne extended an olive branch to the Sussexes for a stroll outside Windsor Castle. It sparked reconciliation rumors again, but the mending reportedly did not happen at all.
"There's no real coming together, it's very clear the 'Fab Four' are not fab anymore, they were going through the motions," Nicholl went on.
