Selena Gomez was at the center of a viral moment during the 2024 Golden Globes Sunday, sparking speculation that she may have been gossiping about Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, at the awards show.

In a video shared by The Hollywood Reporter on X, formerly Twitter, Gomez was captured huddled in a conversation with Taylor Swift and Miles Teller's wife Keleigh Sperry during a commercial break.

Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Sperry appeared to say, "Timothée," at one point during the trio's chat.

Internet sleuths speculated that Gomez shared with Swift and Sperry that Chalamet had declined to take a picture with her, a claim supported by lip reader Jeremy Freeman.

Freeman claimed to Page Six that Gomez approached Swift and Sperry, reportedly saying, "He didn't want a picture with me. He said no."

According to the expert, Sperry sought clarification, asking, "Timothée?" Gomez can then be seen nodding in response.

Swift reacted with surprise, leaning in to whisper in Gomez's ear.

An unnamed insider close to Gomez denied the claim, telling Page Six that the singer-actress did not approach or speak to Chalamet and never sought a photo.

Another unnamed source also told People that Gomez "was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie" during the now-viral moment.

But some fans speculated that the conversation was indeed about Chalamet and that Jenner might have forbidden him from taking a photo with the "Only Murders in the Building" star.

"Selena Gomez asked to take a picture with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner said, 'No'. This is what people that attended the Golden Globes are reporting and in a different video you can hear them say 'TIMOTHEE?!'" one X user wrote alongside another video taken of Gomez and Swift's conversation.

"She was reporting that she wanted to take a picture with [Timothée Chalamet], but Kylie Jenner told her it's not allowed," another user claimed.

"They're saying Selena asked Timothee for a photo and Kylie said no. I think [I] understand why she would decline. I mean, her sister Kendall [Jenner] is [BFFs] with Hailey Bieber. I guess loyalty also involved inheriting beefs," another speculated.

Notably, Gomez and Jenner were rumored to have feuded last year, with fans of the former accusing the beauty mogul of shading the singer in social media posts.

Jenner later denied taking jabs at Gomez. The "Hands to Myself" hitmaker also clarified that their posts were unrelated.

Swift, meanwhile, has an ongoing feud with Jenner's half-sister, Kim Kardashian.

Chalamet and Gomez, although not part of the same social circles, co-starred in the 2019 romantic comedy "A Rainy Day in New York."

During the Golden Globes ceremony, Jenner and Chalamet, who have been romantically linked since April 2023, packed on the PDA.

Sitting side by side, the couple engaged in intimate conversation during a commercial break, as seen in a video circulating online.

Jenner affectionately stroked Chalamet's chest before the two shared a kiss.
