Sony will unveil its new highly anticipated camera NEX-5R in London on Wednesday afternoon and some of the camera's features have been leaked.

The site Sony Alpha Rumors claims to have official specifications of the successor shooter of NEX-5N. The camera has been rumored in the past to feature a new image sensor, faster AF, WiFi capabilibies and an app that allows the user to control it remotely with a cell phone.

According to Sony Alpha Rumors, most of these rumors are true.

The NEX-5R will have a 16.1 megapixel APS-C sensor, ISO up to 25,600, a 3-inch tiltable screen (like the one from the NEX-F3), Remote Control via Application Support, WiFi and over 400 pics per battery charge, according to the site.

An interesting feature is the 99-point phase-detection and 25 contrast autofocus points.

Sony's popular mirrorless NEX series cameras are at the front of the company's aim to become a key player in the photography industry.

Sony says the NEX is the smallest interchangeable lens digital camera1 capable of handling a mega-sized ExmorTM APS HD CMOS sensor for better imagery and well illuminated shots even in low light situations.
Sony will unveil the camera at 3-4p.m. London time Wednesday.

The launch will come a month ahead of the world's leading imaging fair Photokina, to be held in September 18-23 in Cologne, Germany.
